If the wireless signal indicator shows no bars, relocate the display unit or sensor. Ensure both units are within range (usually 165-330 ft) and placed away from electronic interference. A 'hard reset'—removing all batteries from both units for 20 minutes before reinstalling—often resolves connection issues.
Remove batteries from both the display unit and the outdoor sensor. Leave them unpowered for at least 15 minutes to clear the memory. Reinstall batteries in the outdoor sensor first, then the display unit, and allow them to sit side-by-side for 20 minutes to synchronize.
Mount the sensor 4 to 8 feet above the ground in an area with permanent shade and plenty of fresh air circulation. Avoid placing it in direct sunlight or near heat sources to ensure accurate temperature readings.
