The RC72 remote can operate in two primary modes: RF (Radio Frequency) for Genie DVRs and clients, and IR (Infrared) for older DIRECTV receivers and other devices like TVs and audio systems.

Pairing with DIRECTV Genie DVRs (RF Mode)

Ensure your Genie DVR is powered on.
Point the RC72 remote towards the Genie DVR.

Programming for TV and Audio Devices (IR Mode)
